The Aplomado Falcon was placed on the Endangered Species List in 1986 and is the last falcon in the United States currently on this list. The Peregrine Fund has been working to help restore this Endangered Species back to its native range in the southwestern US using various methods such as; captive breeding and release & habitat restoration. More than 1,500 chicks have been released to the wild. As a result, there is now once again a breeding population in the United States.
